The New Herrenchiemsee is on Mr. Chiemsee, the largest island in the Chiemsee in southern Bavaria. According to the previous name of the island it is also sometimes referred to as New Castle Mr Worth. The building was in 1878 under the so-called King Ludwig II, following the example of the palace of Versailles near Paris was built. The designs for the historicist construction mainly come from George of Doll Man, the execution took Julius Hofmann. Herrenchiemsee was the last major construction project of Ludwig II, he lived there only a few days. The work ended with the death of the king in 1886, the building remained largely unfinished to this day.
